County’s gins have ginned 110,010 bales

The six cotton gins in Lamb County have ginned a combined total of 110,010 bales, as of Tuesday morning, Nov. 28, 2017. A week ago, Tuesday, Nov. 21, they had ginned 79,127 bales, so their gins are still humming.

All of them are continuing to run around the clock. Some allowed their employees time off for the Thanksgiving holiday, to enjoy their families. The “Go-Get-’em” trucks may be seen on the highways in all areas of Lamb County, as they pick up modules from the fields and take them to the gins. There are a few areas where the cotton didn’t experience the proper maturity, and need to have Mother Nature defoliate it, before harvesters can go in.
