Lady Bulldogs blow past Kress in season opener, 62-22

The Amherst Lady Bulldogs’ varsity basketball team took their homeseason opener over Kress on Tuesday, 62-22.

Amherst improves to 1-0 overall on the season.

The Lady Bulldogs got out to an early lead in the first quarter as Karina Flores buried a jumper in the lane off of the assist from Erica Flores, putting them up, 2-0, with 7:30 to play in the first quarter.

With 5:35 to play in the quarter, Myeshia Thomas dropped in a layup, drawing an and-one foul on Sierra Wetzel. The free throw was no good by Thomas, leaving the score, 4-0, Amherst.
