In Loving Memory Of Christine Jennings

March 26, 1930 - Sept. 11, 2017 Christine  Sorensen  Jennings of Littlefield passed away peace- fully on September 11, 2017. A graveside service, conducted by Jim Harris, will be held on Thurs- day, September 14, 2017, at 10 a.m. at  Whitharral  Cemetery,  in Whitharral, Texas.   Arrange- ments  by  Hammons  Funeral Home in Littlefield, Texas. Christine was born on March 26, 1930, to Kresten and Lucy Sorensen.  She  was  raised  on  a farm in the Hart Camp area and she knew the meaning of hard work. Christine became a nurse and worked in surgery and then for several different doctors. This career was so fitting to her strong nurturing personality. She was kind, loving, tender-hearted, and always had a cup of coffee or iced tea for guests. Christine lovingly put others ahead of herself. She enjoyed  sitting  on  the  patio  reading  her  Bible  and  watching  the birds. Christine married J Edward Jennings on July 29, 1950. Their first child, Cynthia, was born five years later; within six months, after Christine’s sister died, they adopted their niece, Charlotte. A son, Michael, completed the family until Harlen, Louis, and Razchelle married into the family. Then to Christine’s great delight, three grand- children blessed her life. She loved being Nana and Grandma to Robin, Joel, and Christy. Christine  was  preceded  in  death  by  her  parents,  Kresten  and Lucy Sorensen; brothers, Walter, Kenneth, and Carl Sorensen; sis- ters, Margretha Taylor, Kathryn Goolsby, and Voncile Hill; a grand- daughter, Katrina Pennington; and a son-in-law, Louis Pennington. She will be greatly missed by her husband Ed; daughters, Char- lotte Gilley and husband, Harlen and Cynthia Pennington; a son, Michael and wife, Razchelle; grandchildren, Robin Rucker and hus- band, Kenny, Joel Gilley, and Christy Pennington; three great-grand- sons, Paul, Adam, and Noah Rucker; as well as many nieces and nephews.
