Lois Hart, 84, of Spade, passed away Sunday, Aug. 20, 2017 in Lubbock. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Aug. 25, 2017 at Grace Chapel of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. Interment will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park, with arrrangements under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. She was born July 23, 1933 in Littlefield to William “Bill” and Ellen (Lichte) Will. Lois married John Paul Vrubel in 1949 in Littlefield. He died Dec. 10, 1973. She later married Joe Pat Hart, Aug. 20, 1974 in Clovis, N.M. Lois worked for the Lamb County Leader-News as a journalist for several years, and then worked for the Texas Employment Commission and later at Texas Tech as a job placement clerk. She enjoyed camping, and loved square dancing. Lois played the organ at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church for many years. She was a talented seamstress, and would sew clothes for her daughter when she was younger, as well as did quilting. She was well known for her successful company, Hart Mates, where she made and sold custom baby bedding and accessories to many people, all over the United States. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Pat Hart; her parents; and a sister, LaVerne Carpenter. Lois is survived by her son, Larry Wayne Vrubel and wife, Schelia, of Abernathy; her daughter, Karyn Lynnette Vrubel of Littlefield; step- sons, Joe Hart of Copperas Cove and Steve Hart of Borger; a step- daughter, Beth Epps of Oregon; four grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Charla Carpenter of Amherst, Todd Carpenter of California, Lance Carpenter of Amherst, Kathy Bollinger of Roscoe, Ted Vrubel of Roscoe, and Gary Hodges of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; and a cousin, Ernestine Lichte of Litlefield. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Parkinson Disease Foundation, 3506 21st Street, Lubbock, TX 79410.
