Bennette Dudley, 76, of Littlefield, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 at Littlefield Nursing and Rehabilitation in Littlefield. Funeral service was held at New Jerusalem Baptist Church Thursday afternoon, Feb. 13, with Rev. Raymond Foster of Unity Baptist Church in Lubbock, officiating. Interment was in the Littlefield Cemetery, with McCarty Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Bennette was born Aug. 8, 1937 in Coolidge, Texas to Eula Tubbs McCarty and Samuel James Leonard. She married Charley Dudley on Feb. 1, 1989. She moved to Littlefield in the early 1950s, and worked as a beautician for several years. She was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church, where she was a pianist. She is preceded in death by her father, Samuel Leonard; her mother, Eula McCarty; her husband, Charlie Dudley; and several cousins. She is survived by two brothers, John D. McCarty and wife, Opal, of Littlefield, and Hershell McCarty and wife, Ethel, of Los Lunas, N.M.; and her Goddaughter, Teshia Scott of Littlefield. Pallbearers were Marvin Daniels, Sylvester Daniels, Greg Morgan, Lonnie Twitty, Jr., Johnny Rosemond, and David Rosemond.
