Ramona Cooksey

Ramona Darlene Cooksey, 81, of Dumas died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014, in Amarillo. Services were be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, in First Baptist Church in Dumas, with Rev. Jerry Howe officiating. Burial was in Northlawn Memorial Gardens, with arrangements by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors of Dumas. Ramona was born Sept. 8, 1932, in Reed, Okla., to Jody and Myrtle McCulloch. She married Claud Cooksey on Oct. 28, 1950, in Hobart, Okla. She was a member of the Red Hat Club, attended the senior citizen center and was very active in First Baptist Church, where she was a member. Ramona was a loving mother, wife, grandmother and greatgrandmother. Survivors include her husband, Claud Cooksey; two daughters, Claudia Wolosz and Brenda Vaught and husband, Steve, all of Texas; two sons, Larry Cooksey and wife, Twanna, and Rickey Cooksey and wife, Melissa, all of Colorado; two sisters, Jo Thompson and Donna Kerbo, both of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
