Littlefield city employees gained control of a 12-inch water main break at about 1 a.m. Friday. Late Thursday afternoon, the line broke through the hole this side (north) of the red barricaded fire hydrant, at the intersection of East Fourth Street and Duggan Avenue. Streets and highways were filled with water running towards the storm drain at the corner of East Fourth and Hall Avenue (Highway 385). Friday morning, streets and highways were very slick with the ice that formed, after the water had drained away.
