Farm Bill passed by Congress Wednesday

Given up for dead just months ago, a new five-year farm bill cleared the House Wednesday morning, by a vote of 251-166, raising hopes that Congress can send it on to President Barack Obama, no later than next week. Texas’ Congressman Randy Neugebauer is pleased the farm bill has been passed. “After years of work, I was pleased to join my House colleagues to vote in favor of the Farm Bill Conference Report. I want to thank Chairman Frank Lucas for his efforts to put together a comprehensive fiveyear farm bill that helps strengthen the safety ned for the farmers and ranchers, implement market-based reforms, and closes loop holes to ensure your tax dollars are spent wisely for those in need.
