Service for Theron Hill, 84, of Sudan, was held Sunday afternoon, Jan. 26, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Sudan with Brother Robert Roecker of Sudan officiating. Burial was in Sudan Cemetery, with Ellis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Theron died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014 in Amherst. He was born May 22, 1929 in Sudan, to Jack and Lenna Hill. He married Ann Legg in Sudan on Feb. 8, 1959. Theron was a lifetime resident of the Sudan community. He served in the US Army during the Korean War, and afterwards, was a mechanic and owner of Hill’s Shop in Sudan. Theron was a member of the Sudan Fire Department since 1957. He was a member and a deacon of the First Baptist Church in Sudan. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Donald, Dale and Beryl Hill. Surviving are his wife, Ann; a son, Rick Hill and his wife, LaRhonda of Sudan; a daughter, Tracey Provence and her husband, Darren, of Sudan; two sisters, Wanda Whitten and Lynette Burns of Sudan; a brother, Orville Hill of Sudan; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
