Virginia Pritchard, 83, of Plainview, formerly of Littlefield, died Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 in Plainview. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Jan. 23, in Kornerstone Chapel, with J. Henderson and Mark Hayes officiating. Interment was in Plainview Memorial Park, with Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview in charge of arrangements. Virginia was born on Feb. 1, 1930 in Slaton, to Ellis Ray and Ina Virginia Harlan. She moved to Littlefield at an early age and graduated from Littlefield High School in 1947. She married Jack Pritchard on Feb. 28, 1947, in Littlefield. She was a home maker and active in the Junior Service League. She was instrumental in starting one of Plainview’s first day care centers. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings, Ellis Lamar Harlan and Marinell Harlan Burton. She is survived by her husband, Jack Pritchard of Plainview; two sons, Randy Pritchard and wife, Cindy of Plainview, and Mike Pritchard and wife, Rhonda of Glendale, Ariz.; three grandchildren, Brandon Pritchard and wife, Shana of Plainview, Brook Goldmeyer and husband, Charles of Cypress, Texas, and Dustin Pritchard of Glendale, Ariz.; and six great-grandchildren, Lauren, Cole and Cade Pritchard, and Jack, Ella, and Nate Goldmeyer. The family suggests memorials may be made to Northwest Church of Christ, 2000 North I-27, Plainview, TX 79072, Plainview Humane Society, 500 S.W. 3rd Street, Plainview, TX 79072, or a charity of one’s choice.
