$102,965.67 in sales taxes returned to cities

Texas Comptroller Susan Combs announced Wednesday, that Lamb County cities are receiving a total of $102,965.67 for the January sales tax allocations.The Lamb County total is down by 6.36% from the 2013 payment, which was $109,965.25. She also noted that state sales tax revenue in December was $2.25 billion, up 3.9%, compared to December 2012. “Consumer spending in retail trade contributed to the latest gain in state sales tax collection,” Combs said. “Other sectors such as telecommunications also contributed to the monthly growth, and state sale tax revenue has now increased for 45 consecutive months.”
