Phillip Morris Griggs, 69, of Bovina died at his home in Bovina Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 31, 2013. Services were held Tuesday morning, Jan. 7, 2014 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Anton, with Minister Eunice Griggs officiating. Burial was in the Anton Cemetery, with McCarty Funeral Home of Littlefield in charge of arrangements. Griggs was born Jan. 21, 1944 in Kemp, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Grady Griggs in 1938, Robert Griggs in 1965, Grace Dawkins in 1971, L.J. Griggs in 2010, Eller V. Wilson in 2010, and his son, P.J. Griggs, in 2004. Surviving are his son, Henderson Griggs of Muleshoe; his daughter, Donna Chambers of Mexia; son-in-law, Lamonte Chambers of Mexia; two grandchildren, Geordon and Gianna Chambers of Mexia; his siblings, Irene Medlock of Amarillo, Odessa Williams of Houston, Forest Griggs of Sudan, Lorine Perkins of Houston, and Mary Nell Williams of Baton, Rouge, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Tyrone Clemmons, Author Graves, Chris Griggs, Larry Harris, Ular Johnson and David Weaver.
