Adrian Wilson Veach, 95, of Littlefield, died Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, surrounded by his family. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Parkview Baptist Church in Littlefield, with Brother Dick Hatfield officiating. Burial will be in Littlefield Cemetery, under the care of Hillcrest Funeral Home. He was born Aug. 3, 1918 in Jean, Young County , Texas. In 1923, his family purchased farmland on the Halsell Ranch three miles east of Amherst. During December of 1923 the men built a one-room barn where the family lived until their house was built in 1924. It was the third house to be built on the Halsell Ranch. Adrian attended Amherst schools, and after graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force in 1942 and served 3-1/2 years. He was stationed at Mount Farm Aerofield near Oxfordshire, England for 27 months. It was there in June of 1943 that he met the love of his life, Marjorie. They were married Aug. 24, 1946 at Middleton Stoney, Oxford, England, and they moved to Littlefield in February, 1947. Adrian was predeceased by his parents, Ona and James Preston Veach, his brother, Kennedy Veach and sister, Lorene Harms. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 67 years, Margie of Littlefield; a son, Alan Veach and wife, Jeanie of Spring, Texas; two daughters, Donna Veach of Littlefield, and Janna Lassiter and husband, Tom of Big Spring; grandchildren, Shelli Steadman, Mark Veach, David Veach, Travis Veach, Kim Stunkard, Taylor Veach, Joe Jordan and Stacy Floyd; and greatgrandchildren, Ryan, Emma, Abigail, Adeline, Adney, Ryleigh, Tamra, Ethan, Rebecca, Jesse, Adrianna, Tristen, Zachary, Kara, Ross and Makayla; and one niece, Leona Beddow and husband, Dean of Canyon. Pallbearers are David Rucker, David Thompson, Delmer White, Travis Veach, David Veach, Thomas Stunkard, Paul Steadman, and Patrick Silvas.
