In Loving Memory Of Colleen Leonor Bishop Oct. 21, 1928 - Dec. 17, 2013

Colleen Leonor Bishop, 85, of Snyder, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013 at Rolling Plains Hospital in Sweetwater, after a lengthy illness. Services for Mrs. Bishop were held Friday morning, Dec. 20, at Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home with her grandsons officiating. Interment followed at Hillside Memorial Gardens, with Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home directing arrangements. Mrs. Bishop was born on Oct. 21, 1928 in Scurry County to Jim Luen and Meda Bell (Sturgeon) Smith. She married Garland Bishop on April 27, 1947 in Snyder. He preceded her in death in 2006. Mrs. Bishop was a homemaker, active in school and sporting events of her sons. She loved the Lord, country music and dancing. After her children were grown, she drove the rural Clairmont mail route for twenty years, where she made many friends. She was an active member of the Eastside Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sons, Clay Bishop and Wesley Bishop. She is survived by: her daughter-in-law, Margaret (Fain) Bishop of Sweetwater; three grandsons:Brett Bishop and wife, Jenna of San Antonio, Lance Bishop of Austin, and Reid Bishop of Austin; and a sister-in-law, Jaunita Hester of Snyder; and nieces and nephews.
