Kenneth Judson Ware

Kenneth Judson Ware, 85, of Littlefield died Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 in Amherst. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013 at First United Methodist Church in Littlefield with Rev. Gary Boles officiating. Interment will follow in Littlefield Memorial Park, with arrangements under the personal care of Hillcrest Funeral Home in Littlefield. He was born July 18, 1928 in Hollis, Okla. to Jim and Nettie Ware. He came with the family to Littlefield when he was four months old. He attended Littlefield schools, and after graduation, Kenneth served his country with the United States Navy, entering in 1951 and serving during the Korean Conflict. Once he was discharged, he returned to Littlefield, and on April 15, 1952 in Sudan, he married his sweetheart, Faye West. Kenneth managed Ware’s Department store in Littlefield for 40 years, before selling the business in 1992 to Dunlap’s. He was on the board of directors at First Federal Bank for over 50 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing in Mexico, spending time in Ruidoso, and drinking coffee with his regular “coffee drinking group”. Kenneth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Littlefield. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Damrich in July of this year. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Faye Ware of Littlefield; his grandsons, Jonathan Damrich, Dax Damrich and Geoffrey Damrich; and a brother, James Ware of Kerrville. Serving as pallbearers will be Bill Rodgers, Jim Jones, Jim Ratliff, Garvin Knox, Bob Roden, Leroy Maxfield, Nolan Greek and Max Dreasher.
