United Supermarkets is advising guests about a recall by its supplier Palmer Candy of its white coated confectionary items due to possible Salmonella contamination. Palmer Candy was notified by its liquid coating supplier that there was a potential for contamination with Salmonella from an ingredient that was potentially contaminated from one of their suppliers. The white coated confections items include Chocolate Caramel Corn and Candy Trays available for purchase at Albertsons Market, Amigos, Market Street and United stores in New Mexico and Texas. On Tuesday evening, April 11, AgTexas Farm Credit Services brightened a lot of smiles by awarding $12,000 in scholarships at its ninth annual AgTexas Ag Youth Scholarship awards program at the Embassy Suites Hotel in downtown Amarillo.

Littlefield Primary’s Bikes, Books and BBQ event took place on Thursday, May 9th, where guests got to ride bikes, shop for summer reading material at the Book Fair and they also got to enjoy burgers and hotdogs that were grilled by Mr. Vargas of Lowe’s. RSVP before May 21 to receive a free rainwater barrel The Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service Castro County is hosting a rainwater harvesting program at the Expo Center in Dimmitt, Texas. The program begins at 5:30 p.m.

Courtney Hartley was selected as Lamb Healthcare Center’s Employee of the Month for this month. Hartley works in Clinic Billing and has been with LHC for 2.5 years.

Stan Simonik recently published a devotional titled, “40 Sandwich-size Devotions, Food for the Journey” Simonik was a pastor in Taylor, Texas, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, before he retired and moved to Littlefield in 2016.
